I am an artist living in the Cumbrian countryside, though urban Bristol was my home for many years. (See my paintings of Redland Church, Bristol Suspension Bridge and Bristol waterfront in the England section). After school I spent three very enjoyable years at Oxford School of Art. Then after marriage and the birth of our two children I returned to education and studied for a B.Ed. (Hons.) at Bulmersh College, now part of Reading University. Subsequently, after some years working with children with special needs in Berkshire and Avon, I gained an M.Ed.at Bristol University before retiring from the field of education and being able to concentrate once again on my own drawing and painting.
I enjoyed painting Bristol townscapes but other places in England, particularly the coast of Suffolk and Devon, have attracted me. Scotland, Ireland and France are all favourite venues. Flower paintings and cat portraits add variety.
My paintings have been exhibited in many galleries and my watercolours and pen and ink drawings have sold to people not only in the United Kingdom, but in many other European Countries, and in Canada, America and Australia.
For some years my interests lay mainly in three dimensional work but now I concentrate on watercolour painting or ink drawings.
Please look at the other pages of my site to see more of my paintings and drawings.
